Europe’s public EV charging networks are scaling fast—but reliability is still decided on the ground. Broken connectors, blocked bays, missing signage, access restrictions, vandalism, and slow service coordination create downtime that remote monitoring often fails to capture. For charge point operators, the gap between what dashboards show and what drivers experience is one of the biggest barriers to building trust in charging infrastructure.

That’s why we led a €5 million Series A investment in &Charge, alongside InnoEnergy, Redstone and Porsche Ventures. &Charge is building the operational layer that connects field reality to execution—so operators can detect issues earlier, prioritize what matters most, dispatch the right intervention, and verify that problems are actually resolved.

&Charge combines a SaaS platform with a distributed execution layer, leveraging a community of EV drivers and local service partners to collect field data and perform on-site tasks. This closes the loop between digital monitoring and real-world operations, helping CPOs move from reactive firefighting to structured, day-to-day operational control. Today, &Charge supports leading operators including Ionity, Electra and Allego, managing 50,000+ charging points across multiple European markets.

Our Investment Thesis

We invested in &Charge for three reasons:

  • A mission-critical problem with clear urgency. As networks scale, reliability becomes a competitive advantage—and ultimately a prerequisite for mass adoption. Operators need more than “uptime”; they need visibility into real-world conditions and an execution engine to fix what’s broken.
  • A differentiated model that bridges software and field execution. &Charge doesn’t stop at detection. It turns field-verified insights into prioritized actions, coordinates interventions, and confirms resolution—creating accountability and measurable operational improvement.
  • Strong early traction and a path to category leadership. &Charge has proven product–market fit with leading CPOs and is scaling rapidly. We believe the company can become the operational control layer for EV charging infrastructure across Europe.

With this funding, &Charge will accelerate product development and expand across Europe—moving further into a control layer for day-to-day operations that connects field intelligence, usage data, and service partner coordination into one system.
